Posted by: Qaiss in Corporate Issues, E-commerce & InternetKuwait a free market, thats is what being claimed, its not even close. Kuwait is a monopoly of certain Kuwaiti families, examples are the car dealers. The law is still off bounds for people who want to open other Audi dealerships, why do i say this is because of the bad service we are all getting from such dealerships, they have exclusive parts and make there employees sign papers so then can never open their own mechanics to fix your Audi. In most cases, the international head quarters know nothing about such bad service and dealings. So when encountering any kind of bad service and the company providing the service is international “go global”: what i mean is go to the US website for example and get there emails and then add in the cc part the “Kuwaiti emails” then press send!, with the whole story attached. Believe me you’l be surprised, one dealership nearly charged my 400kd for my alarm malfunction. When by mistake i changed the battery key the alarm malfunction disappeared, at the end it was not the alarm system it was the battery key which costs 2kd. Then i figured out that they charge you such amounts because the have targets, can you believe that they have targets on repairs!!! When my email was sent out, i got the call from the dealership and got a free 400kd credit to do what ever i want in my car. So how is that for going global. When we as consumer become alert, they start respecting us. All around the world the customer is begged for his money, here its the other way round. Be smart folks, dont just take anybody’s word!

hahahaa i am not even a business major but i’ve been saying that for years, ppl just don’t seem to notice even when they are raped by dealerships every time they go for car service.
it’s very hard for a small business to survive in kuwait when it starts getting bigger. it either gets brought by a bigger company for pennies or gets destroyed by the same companies. there are a few families here that control like 90% of the businesses including the black market. that’s why stuff like alcohol stays illegal kinda like the mafia in the US during the prohibition.
