In 5 years ago, the only Japanese restaurants in Kuwait where, Sakura and Kia. Now its Maki with two branches, Wasabi with three, Edo and one more i forgot its name. anyways i have always enjoyed Wasabi and Edo due to the ease in the menu. I mean i go in, with out the use of the menu, i just give them my order. But when going to Maki or Sakura its this branded menu of Essa, Zahra, Mothawi, Omar Maki’s. What happened with simplicity and standards. We as consumers all love having one remote for all our electronics, but with Maki and Sakura its like a couple of remotes for the same TV. Each and every branded Maki has its different ingredients but at the end it just sounds like a Californian roll or Tempura Maki. From a business point of view, these restaurants should keep their menus clear and simple so when visiting, customers do not need to encounter such problems. On the other hand, if you dont know that Sakura and Wasabi have opened in Manguf, an amazing place, quite and has Tea Leaf coffee shop close too. Â

So u ask the worker what’s in it ,he will give you the details…
Why u didn’t name it falafel with 67eena from the beginning and spare me the details?:)
Am planning to brand the bajila place…what you think?:)

LOL
they’re trying to give it a more local touch and make the customers feel like its something they can relate too, especially I think for people who don’t speak English well and may feel intimidated by pronouncing Japanese words written in English. Plus, it makes the experience a little more personal – you know they pick widely used names so you go and there’s a dish in your name.. that kinda thing..
but, i agree, they are over doing it a little – too much of something and it looses its meaning..
LMAOF @ bu maryoom’s comment. I didn’t know they named sandwiches like that
