Slider Station, Strike 2!
Posted by: Qaiss in Health & Food Related Issues, Point of ViewIts how amazing many business owners just ignore what there customers say, know that word of mouth in Kuwait may kill a business by itself. My aunts daughter, a frequent visitor to many restaurants in Kuwait and a very detailed, timely mannered women explains to me her negative experience with slider station again! As she always does, calls in for a reservation and request a table at 8:30, get a call the next day asking her to be there at 8:00, as she explains that she requested a table at 8:30 but the store manager there asks her to be at slider station by half an hour before her reservation time. So after what she heard from slider station she came at 8:40 knowing that as slider station claims international standard, she has about 15minutes slack time before canceling her reservation, ofcourse she meant to be late just because of what the management there have said. Again slider station uses the Maki strategy of claiming how the restaurant is always full and no tables are available. Even when seated at slider station she was requested to leave at 10:00 or just have her desert at the bar! Even when the time has passed 10:30 no customer came in to take her original table. So why does slider station use the Maki unsuccessful strategy of pushing customer out by showing us that they are full 24/7. I once walked to the Lexus showroom in my high school clothes and the reception employee said ” how may i help you?” i just said its okay i’m not gona buy a car anyway, he replied by saying ” its okay you may be a Lexus customer one day” and he got up and walked me around the showroom. This was back in 1997! such great customer service you may never forgot and influence people in a good way but comparing this to what slider station and Maki, ”A successful strategy to fail”.

Now that is very true. Never liked Maki and thier attitude, bad service and their over priced food.

I had a very very different experience. I went there for the first time this week and I arrived about a half an hour late at about 8:30pm. They didn’t reject us even though they specifically warned us that we’d have to leave at 9pm because other people have a reservation. We were glad to find a reservation considering that we made the reservation on the same day- maybe an hour and a half before actually getting there! They brought us the food incredibly quickly so that we’d have time to gobble it before having to head out and from what I recall they didn’t make us leave until the people who were going to take our table actually arrived. We didn’t want to leave but we felt obliged because the manager had already warned us that another table was coming so we didn’t feel bad about it. We actually wanted to be helpful to the manager. He was very polite and seemed to be trying so hard to do his job that you sort of felt sorry for him. Moreover, the food was DEEELICIOUS! I absolutely loved the Peking duck slider to be specific.
I think it would be better though if they didn’t take reservations and just did it on a first come first serve basis.

The place has bad publicity and not many like it, it is badly managed and the food is terrible. While some of the owners friends leave positive comments on several blogs, it does not mean it is being done right. I expect this place to have the same fate as Maki eventually, people who should go, will find other places.

hell to the no, it’s true that they freak out about being packed 24/7 and it’s laughable and unnecessary, but the staff are beyond well mannered and they are very friendly with everybody I know, they really work hard, and I don’t have to go on and on about how the food is delicious. However that place is a FREEZER

Purgatory, if you leave a positive comment you’re friends with the owner? Everyone has to hate it or they lack credibility? People always have different ideas about restaurants, it’s not like the only people who can like a restaurant are friends of the owners. Although I did leave a positive comment since I loved their food I am definitely not friends with the owner so your assumption about all those leaving positive comments being friends with the owner is false.

1001 nights , While ” some ” of the owners friends ..what I said is clear.
I think baladya should close it down anyways for several health violations, which people have complained about, however, no one is taking action yet.

The nice thing about different people is that we all have different levels of anticipations and accepting certain limits(1001 nights & Purgatory) , but overall Slider station seems to do the same with most of its customers creating a lot of bad vibe. i just came up with an idea from your discussions which i will post later on, thanks folks

I had a different experience at Slider Station a couple weeks back .. my reservation was on time (didn’t have to come early) and the food/service was great.

I STILL havent gone yet….i dunno if i even want to go now anyway!
But to be fair….Maki’s policy changed a lot now that they have more than one branch. Im almost always late for my reservations and theyre fine with it and we end up staying for hours. I guess it depends on time and date…whether its a ‘gezz day’ or not ;P

The term “slider” used to describe a mini-burger is just fucking disgusting and a put off. In the US sliders are those nasty lil 30cent burgers u buy in packs of 4 at white castle which slide through ur throat and out of ur ass bc they give u diarrhea. In kuwait slider=cool.
LOL ppl here are so greedy and stupid u can just convince them to like anything related to food. they even eat beef bacon bc they are soooo desperate to stuff their fat cunt faces with the real thing but they can’t, so pathetic.
