Most of you have seen the Mobily(Saudi telecom) TV advertisement push to talk (PTT) service, its the one with the guy using his phone as a walkie talkie trying to locate a car around the suburbs, which gives you a sense that he is following a girl around, then to every bodies surprise its his grand mother with her 3abaya getting caught between the door, trying to warn her. Never mind the TV ad, the service is that you can use your phone with other friends within certain proximity to talk using a single button simultaneously and free, like using a walkie talkie. You do not call your friends using the send button you just connect with them using a single button. So why is MTC not providing such a service, arent these guys one of the top players in the region now, or are they concentrated with openening 2 branches in the African continent, one in the north and one in the south, like Kuwait! Such a service is very useful instead of calling a friend or a group of friends who are lost in marina for example, just use the PTT serivce to find them. Or maybe they think its a security issue. Howcome Mobily telecome have got such a great service and we dont?!

what amazes me is how Saudi was always behind when it came to telecom and i-net. and now, they’re surpassing others like Kuwait & Bahrain! lil asaf in Bahrain, they try to ‘upgrade’ to the best ways to rip off customers as opposed to providing better services!
