I still can not see the beauty in Zain.
Posted by: Qaiss in Marketing & Media, Point of ViewSurly everybody has something to say about the total change in MTC to Zain, i’m not a graphic designer nor a marketeer but i do have some insight into Zain. When going international with a name or a logo, i guess you should be searching for the meaning of Zain in every language yes, like Zain in hebrew for example. Second the black color in the logo made so much problems in Kuwait with the advertising folks, like printing and billboards. Third the colors used in the logo cannot be integrated with any shop signage well nor the Zain branch itself, visited the hawali branch couple days ago and it looked realy bad from inside, the colors used in the logo are hard to integrate with furniture like desks and couches and last but least the ramadan ad that has nothing to do with any form of communication, the ad is nice yes but what does it have to do with communication? The only smart thing out of all this is the fast action taken by the marketing department to change all old signage into the the new one in a very short time.

LOL, Ouch. But if you’re going to search the origin/ translation of every word in every language I’m sure you will find worse names.
The ad does speak about communication in its oldest form…
Ya3ni it gets to people from a different perspective/angle
Ya3ni when they say one family, when they mixed all ethnics groups together…
It’s just different than what the consumer/costumers are used to fa it’s rather hard to swallow
I do agree on the logo though, the black ruined it.

Everybody I talked to about the new logo, said the same thing; its very ugly! Yes it was all over the plcae in a very short period of time, but it was an ugly sign all over the place!

Blue Dress: in the ad on tv, 4 seconds only where given to show one community and picture of people, but everything else was south africa.
Hasan.B: well mtc is in bahrain anyways, we do have MTC there mo?

For me they have amazing ads in TV. If you watch the baby it means they are very small company in large world. That will grow up soon bigger that it is now. Then the logo they try to be kind of modern & unique; every body using the light color wile no body use the black for logo. Am not working in MTC BUT I do respect this company that trying be something, not like other. For the move to Bahrain I think Mr.AL Barak said that Kuwait does not help them & we have very old system of communication. Moving to Bahrain: 90% of privet sector employees wish to work outside Kuwait!
I wish we stop complain of the logo & think about the company profit & size in the Middle East. Really you should be proud of have such a company in your country that non of the GCC have or even the Arab world.

Hasan.B: it will surly effect, i dont think they would close down here nor jobs will decrease but better jobs will surly demand kuwaitis to move and live in bahrain, and sure there are some kind of taxes in bahrain but in the same time better business procedure and oppurtunities.
Blue Dress: the south african images convey nothing about communication, even the radio ads are very missleading

shosho: all what you have said about the logo and the ads is beautiful honestly, i never thought about the baby that way, but i will never be proud of such a huge company with a large profits unless they diverge some of there funds for social responibility within the Kuwaiti community. We the consumers that made that company and what did they ever do for our community, other than the hospital. When a social responsibilty department gets established there, i would understand all there misleading ads. The world is not beautiful nor is africa, its full of wars and poverty, maybe the world is beautiful in the eyes of the top management at ZAIN.
waleed: its nice to know that people like the new logo and especialy accepting change.
